Hot Spleen in Hemochromatosis

Abstract

A 51-year-old male patient was referred to the division of nuclear medicine for bone scan with the complaint of right hip joint pain. The bone scan showed hot uptakes in the acetabulum of right hip joint and right femoral neck (Fig. 1). And surprising
ly an intensely hot uptake in the spleen was found (Fig. 2). Later he was diagnosed as hemochromatosis. Therefore the finding of hot spleen is due to hemochromatosis as reviewed by Winter PF".
